Having crudely
violated the UN Charter and bypassing the UN Security Council, the
United States, along with France and the United Kingdom, committed an
act of aggression against the Syrian Arab Republic on Saturday, April
14, inflicting massive missile strikes on its territory.
The reason for the aggression was the incident on April 7 in the city of Duma, where allegedly Syrian armed forces were using chemical weapons. A rocket attack on Syria's military and civilian infrastructure was inflicted by ships in the Red and Mediterranean Seas, the Persian Gulf, and bombers.
Among the objects that were attacked - a research center in the Syrian capital, the headquarters of the Republican Guard, an air defense base, several military airports and army depots.
For two years, the Syrian army, with the support of the Russian Forces, defeated the most efficient grouping of I.S. in Syria, behind which stand are the imperialist United States, whose aim is to overthrow the regime of Bashar Assad in the Libyan scenario. Syria is an Arab state in the Middle East, it is engaged in a consistent struggle against imperialism and Zionism, takes a firm stand against interference in the affairs of the Arab states, which causes the frenzy of the imperialist United States.
The loss of US strategic positions in the Middle East is the real cause of the aggression.
"The attack was due to the awareness of the colonial Western powers supporting terrorism that they lost control ... The aggression occurred after the terrorists did not reach the goals of those countries that were involved in the war against Syria," said the president of the SAR Bashar Assad.
The attacks were made at a time when the inspectors of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) were due in the very near future to go to the city of the Duma with the task of establishing the truth about the use of chemical weapons in Syria. According to the Syrian Foreign Ministry, the aggression of the United States, France and Britain on Syrian targets is aimed at disrupting the mission of the OPCW in verifying reports of allegedly committed chemical warfare in the city of the Duma.
